What is a sworn translation?
It’s a official translation made by a public translator and interpreter properly appointed by the Junta Comercial of the state.
Who can do it?
Only the public translator and interpreter. The exercise of the office is strictly personal and cannot be delegated.

Do you translate any document?
In principle, yes. However, with the aim of offering the best service possible to the clients, in some cases, the most correct and professional attitude is to indicate another professional to attend the demand.
Do you translate for any language?
In the moment, I’m able to make translations in the pair Portuguese-English.
Do you use artificial intelligence?
Artificial Intelligence is a powerful tool that can be used for many purposes, including translation. However, sworn translation requires greater care when it comes to data management. So, although AI is one of the tools that we use, as do other public translators and interpreters, you can be sure that your document will not be automatically translated by AI. It will be treated with the respect and trust that your data deserves.
Are my data protected?
Yes. When hiring me directly, your data are protected, according to the LGPD (General Data Protection Law), with complete discretion and responsibility.
What is a Brazilian Sworn Translation (Tradução Juramentada)?
In Brazil, any foreign document must be legally translated into Portuguese to be accepted by federal agencies, cartórios (notary offices), the Federal Police, or banks. A Sworn Translation (Tradução Juramentada) can only be issued by a Certified Public Translator and Commercial Interpreter (known as a TPIC) who has passed a rigorous civil service examination and is registered with the State Board of Trade (Junta Comercial).
Can a translation agency or company issue a Sworn Translation in Brazil?
Absolutely not. Under Brazilian law (Law No. 14,195/2021), the office of a Public Translator is strictly personal and non-delegable. No translation agency, corporation, or business entity is legally authorized to issue or sign a Sworn Translation. Only individual registered translators possess official public trust (fé pública) granted by the government. Hiring an agency often introduces illegal intermediaries, invalidates the legal status of your documents, and adds unnecessary markup fees. I am moving to Brazil. Which personal documents require a Sworn Translation?
If you are applying for a Digital Nomad Visa, permanent residency, marriage registration, or student visa, you must translate your official foreign documents. The most common items include: Birth, marriage, or divorce certificates; Background checks and police clearance reports (e.g., FBI background checks); University diplomas, academic transcripts, and professional certificates; Bank statements and proof of income.
Our company is expanding to Brazil. What documents do we need to translate to register our corporation?
To open a subsidiary, establish a local branch, open corporate bank accounts, or register investments with the Central Bank of Brazil (BACEN), your foreign corporate records must undergo a Sworn Translation. We routinely handle: Articles of Incorporation and Corporate Bylaws; Board meeting minutes and shareholder resolutions; Powers of Attorney (PoA) granting local representation; Certificates of Good Standing and tax registration certificates; Financial statements, audit reports, and balance sheets.
Do my documents need the Hague Apostille before you can translate them?
Yes. To be legally recognized in Brazil, your original foreign documents must be apostilled in the country where they were issued before the translation process begins. The Hague Apostille is a seal of authenticity applied by your local government authority (such as the Secretary of State in the US). Please ensure your documents carry this stamp, as the Apostille itself must also be included in our Sworn Translation.
Do I need to mail my physical documents to Brazil?
No, physical shipping is rarely necessary. Thanks to digital modernization in Brazil, we can perform your Sworn Translation using high-resolution scans of your apostilled documents. The final translation is delivered as a secure digital PDF signed with a legally binding ICP-Brasil electronic signature. This digital document is fully valid and legally accepted by all public and private institutions across the entire Brazilian territory.
What are the payment methods and processing times for international clients?
